Lifeline - user manual

Lifeline finishing equipment distinguishes your millet from others of the same kind. All Lifeline finishing products are hydrolysed, durable and millet-like with natural beauty. Finishing tools are available for handling both interior and exterior walls.

Why should the outer wall be finished?

  • to make the house look as presentable as possible
  • so that the house is protected from damage caused by UV radiation
  • so that the house would be protected from damage caused by water and moisture
  • so that the house would be protected from damage caused by mold and mildew

There is nothing complicated about preserving the beauties of Hirsitalon. A little bit of processing, compared to millet houses, is a maintenance agent for millet houses. Hirsitalon maintenance has not come up with a better alternative than processing with wool products from Perma-Chink Systems' ümöristösämäälygeen tuotömälääan.

Lifeline Ultra-2™ combined with a colorless coating agent Lifeline Advance™ Satin tai Gloss gives a millet house for the final finishing touch. Several years of continuous research, product development and experience have been created for the Perma-Chink Systems – finishing products following success::

  • Lifeline stains and finishes offer the best possible finish. They bring forth natural structure and natural beauty. Compare these products with other finishing products on the market. Other companies have tried to copy the bottom line that Lifeline products create, but have not succeeded.
  • The polymer contained in Lifeline products surrounds the wood fiber and protects it on the outer surface where protection is needed. Lifeline forms a flexible protective layer on the tree trunk, which adapts to the movement of the tree trunk.
  • Pigment and UV inhibitor are important elements in protecting the tree. Although the UV inhibitor helps extend the life of the finishes, the pigments are the ones that provide long-lasting protection from UV rays and enhance the natural beauty of the tree. Both products, Lifeline Ultra-2 and also Lifeline Exterior, contain necessary and valuable pigments.
  • When the finishing agent has worn off the surface of the tree, there are no more pigments in the surface of the tree. So, if new finishing agents are applied, there is no accumulation of pigments at the same time, as has happened with conventional finishing agents. The result - even after a few years, the talonne looks the same as when it was finished. The pigment contained in the usual finishing materials will be collected on the surface of the wood, and the wood's vibrancy will be dulled by a few degrees after each treatment cycle, when new finishing materials are applied to the wood. The Lifeline product system allows you to choose whether you use Lifeline products containing pigmented products or Lifeline Advance products.
  • All Lifeline stains are "breathable", i.e. they allow the wood to dry naturally, while protecting the wood from precipitation and moisture absorption, which in turn reduces the occurrence of cracks.
  • Lifeline finishing materials are easy to use, they do not emit toxic fumes, they are non-flammable, they are easy to clean with water and soap.

How are Lifeline finishing materials used?

The first two layers of Lifeline Exterior and Lifeline Ultra-2 are applied to the exterior
-finishing agent, to which two layers of color-proof surface protection agent Lifeline Advance Satin tai Gloss are applied. Check the condition of the top layers during the cleaning and inspection of the floor, so that you can determine the areas where you need to apply another coat of Lifeline Advance Satinia or Glossia.

After handling Lifeline products, the exterior walls of the building require only minor maintenance and no maintenance at all within 3-5 years. If the local weather conditions are unfavorable or if the moisture content of the millet is high (more than 20 %), the millet needs more maintenance.

Maintenance work must include the following steps:

  • building inspection once every six months
  • regular cleaning work
  • treatment with maintenance agent

What can be expected?

The exterior finish is subject to rather high requirements. You expect that the external finishing layer will protect the wall from possible temperature fluctuations, wind, rain, snow and sun damage. The mentioned factor may affect different parts of the building at different times. The effect of weather conditions can be seen most typically on the south- and west-facing walls of buildings (to which the most sunlight and heat are exposed), less so on the north- and east-facing walls. The lower the roof reaches, the less the weather conditions can get to it. Any wall surface that is resistant to wet and dry fluctuations will be damaged faster than an insulated wall.

Hirsien päedy must be checked carefully, treated with protective agents and maintained regularly. The structure of the bark pile absorbs water about ten times more efficiently than longitudinal wood fibers. Seal the end of the millet with Long End Seal™ to avoid problems caused by damp wood (rot fungus, pest damage).

Due to the change of the vuodenaikojen, in the first years there may be a slight swelling of the sap of the millet tree, sometimes even endlessly. Tree sap can't be stopped without finishing agents. I juice the soreness or remove it by holding ice on the leaking area, scraping the area with a putty knife or applying alcohol to the area.

Over time, hirsin develops schism. Lighter winds accelerate the penetration of moisture into the trees by precipitation. A tree that absorbs a lot of water will expand or shrink more than a protected tree, and this will cause new cracks to appear. It is absolutely necessary to fill the cracks that open on the top and more than half a centimeter, if they are sateilles and other moisture sources. Shell-Guard RTU (a borate-based wood preservative) is suitable for wood treatment, which should be used to treat cracked areas that have been exposed to moisture before filling cracks. Varmistukaa ensin ekstha halkeamat ovat vivia inside and puhiddettu roskista.

Note: pylöröhirsissä syntyums weather conditions cause damage primarily to the upper part of the hirren, as this area is particularly vulnerable to rain and sun damage. It is also a surface on which pollutants that do not move with it accumulate. Usually, we first notice the damage caused by liana and scum in the upper part of the round surface of the root.

Before starting, check out some advice:

1. The drawing of the box is included in the inspection. It does not have to be very detailed, but a simple plan of the house, in which you can note all the observations that need to be taken into account in the maintenance and renovation of the house.

2. Take photos during inspection. It's really amazing how the eye sometimes wakes up, and some phenomenon you've noticed before is a boy when you check it again.

3. List of items to be investigated in the building. It's easy to forget what you're trying to do when you've already hit the third or fourth wall during the inspection.

4. It is recommended to clean the hirret before checking the roof.

Cleaning existing Lifeline finishes

Ulkoseinien cleaning is important in preserving and prolonging the life of the exterior. The outdoor area of the building collects and removes any impurities that can be carried along, which will fade the color of the wood and create favorable growth conditions for the growth of mushroom sprouts.

Cleaning is also necessary so that the inspection of the roof would be adequate and would also cover the condition of the finishes used on the exterior surfaces.

Wash the exterior walls in exactly the same way as you wash a car. The goal is to remove all contaminants without damaging the finish. The following instructions must be taken into account when performing the work:

  • Strong cleaning agents can damage the finish!
  • The treatment agent Log Wash has been developed precisely for this purpose. The product is used in small areas at a time, because Log Wash is a wet layer on the surface of the log, so that cleaning gives the desired results.
  • The hose is a non-stick nozzle, which mists the wall and does not spray a strong jet of water.
  • If necessary, use a soft brush or a sieve without an abrasive surface for cleaning.
  • First, wet the wall by spraying it with a spray bottle and water from a suitable nozzle. Treat an area large enough to be treated with the cleaning solution for 5-10 minutes.
  • Spread the cleaning solution on the wall from the bottom up. Applying the cleaning agent Log Wash to the wall is best done with a garden sprayer and a garden sprayer.
  • When you have finished cleaning the area to be treated, gently rinse off the remaining cleaning agent from the wall.

It is important to remember that the cleaning agent is spread on the wall from bottom to top and rinsed from top to bottom.

The outer wall must be checked carefully

  • The treated areas, which are more exposed to weather conditions, are located on the south and west facing walls, which are exposed to more solar radiation and which are exposed to the wind, are also more affected by precipitation and dust.
  • Investigate ulkoviimeistelykerros weather conditions and damage caused by weather conditions.
  • The most common damage:
    • primištelykerros is faded;
    • the water-stained wall of the wall is silent;
    • kosteat hirsien päedyt.

Note: varmistukaa eksza yksikään kastelulaite ei suintaisii water shower rykekenen seinin, no tuiliselakan säällä.

  • Tartikakaa ulkoviimeistely. If the finishing layer has worn out and lost its wedge, the damaged wall can be treated with Lifeline Advance maintenance agent.
  • If the painting has faded, it is time to treat the wall with Lifeline stain containing pigments.
  • Selvittäkää, onko pusssa lahon tai homeen aiheutamia träkää:
    • in the uppermost layer of the primištelykratun (perhaps it has been washed in the washing machine?);
    • under the finishing layer.
  • Fill the upward-opening crack (0.5 cm and wide) with external Check Mate (the crack must first be treated with Shell-Guard RTU:
  • Examine the deer carefully so that there are no signs of possible moisture damage (faded or softened wood).
  • In particular, it is necessary to carefully check the ends of the logs and those parts of the logs that do not reach the roof.
  • Check the joints of the mills and the joints of various sealants (Perma-Chink, Energy Seal, Check Mate) near the mills, windows and doors, the eaves line and in all places where cold weather or moisture can penetrate the building. If necessary, maintenance work must be carried out.

If moisture has become a problem, Shell-Guard provides protection against decay and pest damage. For more information, contact Log House Center.

Maintenance work with LIFELINE products

If the finished surface has lost its water threshold, the surface of the tree should be treated with Lifeline conditioner. Note that it is not always necessary to treat the entire building with the treatment agent. The substance can only be applied to walls that need additional maintenance.

If the finish layer has faded and the vibrancy is no longer bright enough, it is time to treat the surface with pigment Lifeline Exterior or Lifeline Ultra-2, which restores the vibrancy. These products also provide protection that only pigmented products can provide. This is especially important for walls exposed to direct sunlight. After that, the lifeline Advance Satin tai Gloss is applied.
When the shade is correct, but the finishing layer has lost its wedge, it is necessary to apply new layers of Lifeline Advance Satin or Gloss, and the problem is solved.

Check all wood surfaces for possible signs of decay, dirt, stains caused by home or tanning agents. Stains from decay and mold fungi are usually round and clearly structured, but stains left by tanning agents are irregular in shape.

If the damage caused by the fungus is untreated in the finishing layer of the wood, Log Washin should be removed easily. The only substance that can remove stains caused by tanning agents is Oxcon, oxalic acid. If the vibrasävyn changes are below the finishing layer, the finishing layer must be removed from the affected areas for maintenance, in order to avoid damage to the hands. Undamaged wood can be cared for with appropriate restoration methods. For more information, contact Log House Center. If you notice a tree that is seriously damaged by moisture (the tree is darkened, it shows a large stain caused by moisture or decay), remove the source of moisture and treat the tree with Shell-Guard RTU, so that it does not form a burn.

Carefully follow all the instructions given in the product information regarding surface preparation and product surface application, so as to achieve the best possible benefit from the work and product use as well as the final result. Read the instructions before starting work. Huomatkaa eksznemukainen mukainen prövättötyö is always necessary, because the finishing layer emphasizes the structure of the tree and removes the factor that damages it.

The old finishing floor: If the tree's top layer is already very old, it would be necessary to first check and assess the areas with the most concern. Painakaa an old finishing layer, a ten-cent piece of masking tape. Remove the tape and look at the adhesive side. If the tape from the old finishing layer has not stuck to the metal fabric, it can most likely be used as a base for a new Lifeline finishing layer. If there is a significant amount of old finishing agent on the tape, it should definitely be removed before applying the new agent on the wood surface. EAZY STRIP and PCSI S-100 are suitable for Työhön. The choice of work methods depends on the condition of the finishing layer, the integrity of the hirsien sealing layer, the environmental conditions and the selection of the worker. This kind of work usually means using one of the work methods listed below:

  • pressure washing
  • hiominen sandpaperilla
  • use of chemical cleaners
  • maize harvest method

Pressure washing is a fairly frequently used cleaning method for conventional houses that have tight sealing systems that prevent water from penetrating inside the house. No chemicals are used in this method, but pressure washing causes graininess on the surface and the formation of loose wood fibers. Wood fiber can be easily removed with a hieromalla sandpaperilla tai brush.

Grinding and polishing with sandpaper are also non-chemical methods of removing the old finishing layer. The disadvantages of working methods are quite laborious and time-consuming.

The use of chemicals usually requires the use of a pressure washer in order to effectively remove the old and damaged finish layer. We offer substances that are relatively environment- and user-friendly. The effects of contact with chemical substances and pressure washing are the effects of the product (see above).

The use of corn sirotene to grow is popular. The method effectively removes the old finishing layer without using water or chemicals. The advantage of this method is the fact that the work surface is dry after the work is prepared, and the new non-color finish Prelude adheres to it excellently. The method of work is to sift the corn kernels after the job and carry them in a rope. The method also causes the formation of jonkin verran irrallisia fibrous wood surface and sometimes even individual stick shapes. The surface of the wood can be leveled after this method in the same way as after pressure washing.

Graying of the tree – UV damage has occurred as a result and it can be removed from the surface with sandpaper or pressure washer using Wood ReNew or Oxconia. If the tree is dry but not gray, Oxcon is the best solution for repairing it. If the surface of the wood is also greasy or oily, Wood ReNew is the best option for removing impurities and restoring the natural tone of the wood.

Surface treatment of the sawmill – it can cause serious problems in the new hip. Remove the surface treatment layer with sandpaper, a pressure washer, or a surface treatment cleaner that you can get at your local hardware store.

Hionta – do not use steel wool to clean the wood. This will leave fine steel particles on the surface of the wood, which will later cause rust stains on the finish.

Rust stain – if there is a nail in the hidden hip, tin nail or rust stains from other objects, remove the Oxconilla stain. When using Oxconia, always treat the entire wall. Do not use the substance only in isolated areas.

Lahosinet and hummus – if there are stains on the surface of the finish layer, wash it with Log Washilla. Never use household bleaches, as they damage the finish and the surface of the wood. Untreated wood spread Wood ReNew removes damage caused by decay and mold fungi.
Note: If you use Log Washia, Wood ReNew or change the cleaning solution, start applying the cleaning agent from the lowest log and continue to apply upwards. Rinse in the upper voice area. This helps to avoid the formation of "raitojen" in the cleaning process.

  • Borate-based preservatives such as Shell-Guard, Shell-Guard RTU or Armor-Guard are applied to wood before Lifeline products. If the work instructions are not followed, it may result in additional expenses and additional work.
  • Lifeline products can be applied with a brush or vacuum duster. Use a suitable nozzle for spraying. High-quality brushes achieve a more efficient end result and a more professional appearance. .
  • First, a color test should always be performed, especially if the wood surface has been treated with a scattering method. The test must be performed on the same type of wood with the same surface treatment as the wall on which you intend to use the product. The more untreated and porous the surface of the wood, the darker the finish's external vibration tone will be. It is recommended to use Prelude pre-treatment agent first, so that non-pigmented stains do not absorb too much into the surface.
  • If you apply Lifeline products to the wall by spraying, brushing them with a brush (even notice that Lifeline products are applied to the wall after spraying) later prevents the product from melting and excessive absorption. Follow-up is necessary working method, to jotta prímedelyaine prädaaytyisi puun pintaan tasaseist and syaeraisi touch as much as possible. Any spilled paint must be treated immediately with a brush and the proper procedure must be followed.
  • Lifeline products could never liuottaa thai laimentaa.
  • Spread Lifeline tree trunk when the air temperature is 0°–32°C. Avoid direct sunlight. If there is a pause in the distribution of the substance, ajoittakaa pause jonkin pääsen end, when you have for example tullat vaikku ikkunnan kohdalle tai kamuna. The distribution could not be interrupted in the middle of the Hirren.
  • If more than one container is reserved for the job, the contents of the different containers should be poured together and mixed together in order to achieve a more even end result.
  • Care should be taken to stir the substance before use and also during use so that it does not form deposits. This applies to ALL finishing materials, including the outer layer treatment materials containing color pigments!
  • The first Lifeline-pelsin in the hiding place is at the point where the shot is fired. 3.5 l / 30–40 m2 smooth wood pine (carheim pine pintoihin kuluu petsiä more). • A thin and even layer gives the best end result. Puhuhun cannot stay too visible and thick glossy Lifeline product.
  • Don't ever try to tint Lifelinen colored products or add color to them (Lifeline Advance Satin or Gloss).
  • If you invest in getting a good brush, you will get a good result. Don't save in the wrong place!

Using Lifeline Ultra-2

Lifeline Ultra-2 is applied to the tree in two layers.

Spread the first layer of the product on the treated area. Wait at least two hours, depending on the temperature and humidity of the air, until the first layer has dried properly. After that, apply a second layer to create a traditional Lifeline product-like appearance.

Use of Lifeline Ultra-2 ulkoverhousken

After that, you should apply one or two layers of the dyed Lifeline Advance surface treatment agent to the already dried layer.

Use of Lifeline Exterior

Lifeline Exterior is spread on wood in two layers.

Spread the first layer of the product on the treated area. (We recommend using the UV Boost product as the first layer, especially on surfaces exposed to direct sunlight). Wait at least two hours, depending on the temperature and humidity of the air, until the first layer has dried properly. After that, apply a second layer to create a traditional Lifeline product-like appearance.

After that, you should apply one or two layers of the dyed Lifeline Advance surface treatment agent to the already dried layer.

Using Lifeline Advance Satin -finishing agent

Lifeline Advance Satin is a colorless surface treatment that provides additional protection against weather conditions, decay, and UV radiation and extends the life of this paint. Levittäkää pääääään alueeseen yksi tai kaksi layer aineta.

The maintenance surface treatment agents Lifeline Advance, Lifeline Exterior and Lifeline Ultra-2 can be applied directly to the Advance coating. Sometimes the old finishing material layers have to be completely removed and new layers of Lifeline products applied to the surface.

Using Lifeline Advance Gloss -finishing agent

Lifeline Advance Gloss gives the keel room wood, which is first stained with Lifeline Exterior and Lifeline Ultra-2:lla. (Emme recommends using Lifeline Advance Glossia in Pickled White (EX 150), Seagull (EX 152) and other white and mixed stains.)

Usually, one layer of Lifeline Advance Glossia is enough to create a reflective sheen on the entire surface.

Surface treatment agents Lifeline Advance, Lifeline Exterior and Lifeline Ultra-2 can be applied directly to Advance concealer. Sometimes the old finishing material layers have to be completely removed and new layers of Lifeline product applied to the surface.

Color Lifeline Advance Satin tai Gloss finishes are used in pigment-rich finish layers and are not intended for use on wooden surfaces that have not been wetted beforehand.

Use of Lifeline Interior

To get the best possible result, spray the product on and treat the surface with a brush. (We definitely recommend using Lifeline Interiorin UV Boost on the first layer.) Depending on the temperature and humidity, wait at least two hours until the first layer has dried properly and apply a second layer of Lifeline Interioria, or Acrylic Glossia, or Stainia.

A safe and flat floor gives the best result.

Use of Acrylic Glossin and Acrylic Satinin

Use a fast-drying and shiny surface-leaving finishing agent tiwettettyyn and pessattuun huhun. The substance can be used to finish carpentry products, wooden objects, edging, furniture and interiors. Acrylic Gloss / Satin prättäytyyy pintaan östätä and säteiste.

Sealing agent (colorless and tinted) Lifeline Interior (recommended to be used together with UV Boost) improves the durability of Acrylic Glossin / Satinin. Spread the first layer of Acrylic Glossia / Satinia tiwettettyyn wood. Kästeltyyn pintaan syntyneet painting cast immediately leveled immediately with a brush. If you want to apply additional layers, the bottom layers must first be properly dried. The first, well-dried layer of lightly sanded, fine-grained sandpaper is the best way to get a smoother end result and better adhesion. It is not recommended to use the outer parts made of steel fiber, because they may detach the steel parts and they may later cause rust stains on the finishing surface.
Acrylic Glossin / Satinin concealer is a removable menekmäärälä n. 3.5 l / 30–40 m2 smooth wooden floor and approx. 3.5 l / 50–70 m2 compacted and treated pint.

Cleaning work should be started as soon as possible. Noudattakaa työvälineiden puhidtusa I prepare the given instructions. Warm soapy water removes stains from Lifeline products that have not yet dried.

Lifeline-stains and surface treatment agents that have already dried can be softened with alcohol and then washed with warm water. Used empty containers are stored in accordance with local waste management regulations. Empty tanks cannot be used to store food or drinking water.

A treasure trove

Lifeline, Acrylic Gloss and Acrylic Satin products should be stored out of direct sunlight and should not be allowed to freeze. Unused substances are stored in tightly sealed containers. Lifeline products that have not been used for more than a year must be thrown away. For more information, contact Log House Center.

Acrylic Gloss - indoor use of the finish

A color test should always be performed before starting work, especially if the surface of the tree has been treated with a spreading method (in such cases it is recommended to use the Prelude product). The test must be performed on the same surface treated wood as the wall on which you intend to use the product.
